HONOR BY HIS MAJISTY THE PRINCE PHILIP OF ENGLAND

I was hnored to visit and meet Prince Philip in 1989 at the UEL Conference in Lennoxville, Quebec. He was so gracious to accept  my first book, Thunder Over New England, and included it into the Royal Library at Buckingham Palace. He included one more great honor with a letter, he had signed his photo of the conference program. I am sure that my Loyalist ancestor, Benjamin Bonnell was also very honored.

HONORED DURING MY 1985 BOOK TOUR OF MY FIRST BOOK, THUNDER OVER NEW ENGLAND BY SAINT JOHN, NEW BRUNSWICK MAYOR ELSIE WAYNE

Before addressing 100 UEL Members at Saint John one night, and the day before my Channel 5 TV interview, I met with Mayor, Elsie Wayne of Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada who presented me with the most famous lapel pin of the "Loyalist Man," the mascot of that fine city. We have met again in 2003 during the UEL Conference in Saint John commemorating the 225th. landing of the loyalist, and my loyalist ancestors, Benjamin Bonnell, Sarah (Jones) Bonnell and John Day. Now as a Canadian minister/representative to Ottawa (much like our Senators here in the USA), she honord me again by sitting with us through the night at our dinner table, visiting and enjoying each others company along with the honorable Okill Stewart.

(This photo only has Okill there along with two other distinquist UEL members)

Abenaki "Aln8ba8dwa" Language Camp

Certificate of Attendance

Held 9-11 Oct. 2009, Cowasuck Band of the Pennacook, Alton, NH

This was a very good educational session where my granddaughter, Hannah Bunnell attended with me. Her results were much better then mine, but the purpose of these programs to preserve our Abenaki Language is an excellent activity for young and old. Professional Instructors were, Elie Joseph Joubert, Jesse Bruchac and Dr. Philippe Charland. The cultrual event was hosted by Paul & Denise Pouliot.
